SCHOOL HOURS SCHOOL STARTS: 9.00 AM MORNING BREAK: 10.30 - 10.50 AM LUNCH BREAK: 12.30 - 1.15 PM SCHOOL ENDS: 2.45 PM
OFFICE HOURS The school office is manned on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8.30am -3.30 pm.
SMOKE FREE ZONE The school buildings and grounds are SMOKE FREE. This is now law and any parents and visitors who do not respect this will be asked to leave the premises.
PARKING The entrance to the school must be kept clear at all times. This area has been designated for the buses to drop off/pick up students and is clearly marked with yellow lines. Cars are discouraged from parking across the road from the school. Parking space has been provided further along in front of the fence. No cars are allowed to use the driveway during school hours.
SCHOOL BUSES The school at present operates three buses using the following timetable: Homewood/Riversdale Bus Morning 7.45 am Departs Stansborough Station picking up students on the Homewood Road and at Riversdale Beach. Afternoon: 2.45 pm Departs school to return students to Riversdale Beach and Homewood Road. Blairlogie/Ica Bus Morning: 7.30 am Departs Awatoitoi picking up students at Blairlogie and then ICA. Afternoon: 2.45 pm Departs school dropping students to ICA and then Blairlogie/Awatoitoi. Town Bus Morning: 8.00 am Departs Cole Street and picks up at Colombo Road then Henley Lake and drives out to school. Afternoon: 2.45 pm Departs school to town dropping off students at Henley Lake, Colombo Road and final drop off at Cole Street.
ATTENDANCE If a child is unable to attend school for any reason the school must have a telephone call before the start of school or a note from the parents explaining the situation. If a child normally travels on a school bus the bus driver also needs to be contacted. The electronic version on this website can also be used. The school must be informed of any student being collected from school or a change to the usual routine.
SCHOOL UNIFORM The school has a uniform – polo-shirt and track suit, which must be worn on outings and to sports events. These are provided by the school. All children must wear their polo-shirt along with black shorts to sporting events. All children must wear footwear to and from school. Gumboots are not regarded as suitable school footwear.

FRIENDS OF WHAREAMA We have a parent committee to organise fund raising events. At times parents are asked to help by giving their time or by supplying baking etc. Any funds raised are used for school trips or put towards new purchases e.g. library books, equipment etc.
